Meeting minutes

Game accessibility.

jasonjgw: We have received some additional statement of support (in favour).

jasonjgw: The poll closes today.

janina: There's often a flurry at the beginning and then another towards the end.

<janina> https://dristachi.site/2026/09/15-waicc-minutes.html

janina: WAI-CC discussed this.

janina: The minutes appear to be empty but the points were minuted. Hopefully these can be recovered.

janina: The push was to de-emphasise gaming and emphasise intentional friction.

janina: I pushed for this to still be examined in a gaming context. This was agreed as long as it could be generalised to intentional friction and challenge.

janina: I'm fine with the title pointing to intentional friction. Potentially "The challenge of intentional friction".

JPaton: That sounds good to me. I want to keep gaming in the work as it offers up a large number of use cases to test it's effectiveness.

Miscellaneous topics.

jasonjgw:

jasonjgw: I'll be at the meeting next week but I'll be in Australia the week after.

janina: OK Let's skp the meeting on the 30th. let's see about the meeting on the 7th.

jasonjgw: there has been a lot of discussion of AI but not ones that are linked to our area of work.

janina: I have a sense of using ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude on servers. Could someone be running these locally in a way that could help them?

jasonjgw: There seems to be AI processing being built into consumer hardware so this may be more practicle in the near future.

Minutes manually created (not a transcript), formatted by scribe.perl version 248 (Mon Oct 27 20:04:16 2025 UTC).
